Three beautiful running and walking trails start right at the hotel and are clearly marked with signs all the way—so nothing stands in the way of a relaxing run! P.S.: Walking poles are available to borrow for free at the front desk.

Pond Trail The Sole Felsen Welt Hotel Sole Felsen Welt right on the Pond Trail. This is a beautiful, idyllic path surrounded by nature that connects six small and larger ponds. With a length of approximately 5.5 km (and an estimated walking time of 1.5 hours), this trail is ideal for a short stroll. A map of the route is available at the front desk. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes for this route.

TIP: Combine your walk along the pond-lined path with a detour to the beautiful old town.

Blockheide Nature Park
The Blockheide is a nature park on the outskirts of Gmünd, featuring massive rock formations and idyllic hiking trails. The entrance is about 5 km (a 5-minute drive) away by car. If you’d like to walk to Blockheide, you can reach it either via the Teichkettenweg trail or through the old town of Gmünd (about 4 km)
Upon request, we’d be happy to drive you to the entrance of Blockheide, subject to availability. We recommend sturdy footwear for these routes.

Nature Trail:
From the Big Bang to the Present Day – exploring unique natural treasures around Gmünd. This trail connects the Teichkettenweg with the Blockheide, the Lainsitzniederung, and the town of Gmünd, and you can start it right from the hotel. The Naturknallweg trail is 13.7 km long (walking time: approx. 4 hours). A map of the Naturknallweg trail is available at the front desk.


City Walking Tour
The City Walking Tour consists of the Old Town and New Town routes. The New Town route can be started directly from the hotel. Along this route, the history of World War I is described on information panels. A detour to Czeske Velenice is recommended (please note that a passport or ID card is required). The Old Town route is approximately 2.5 km long and takes you to many of Gmünd’s unique sights: Old Town Hall – City Museum – Glass and Stone Museum – Schremser Street – Bahnhofstraße – Schlossparkgasse – Palm House – Castle Park – Old Blacksmith’s and Wheelwright’s Shop – Rothgasse – Kirchengasse – St. Stephen’s Parish Church – Sgraffito Houses – City Square.
