Arbesbach Bear Forest
One of Four Paws’ rescue centers is the Arbesbach Bear Sanctuary. It is currently home to three brown bears that were previously kept in conditions unsuitable for their species. The 14,000-square-meter facility provides the bears with a natural and species-appropriate home.

During the guided tours of the Arbesbach Bear Forest, you’ll learn a lot about the bears. Anyone who observes the bears will quickly realize that the days when they led a miserable existence in cages that were far too small are now a thing of the past. There, the bears frolic in the pond, forage for food, take afternoon naps in the shade of the trees, or simply enjoy their lives in the Bear Forest.
The Bear Forest is designed to be accessible. This means there are no thresholds along the visitor path, and all steps can be bypassed via alternative routes. You are welcome to bring your dog to the Bear Forest and the designated dog area at no extra charge.
