Bärenwald Arbesbach
One of Vier Pfoten rescue centers is the bear sanctuary Bärenwald Arbesbach. It is currently home to three brown bears that were previously kept in conditions unsuitable for their species. The 14,000 m² facility provides the bears with a natural and species-appropriate home.

During the guided tours of the Arbesbach bear sanctuary, you’ll learn a lot about the bears. Anyone who observes the bears will quickly realize that the days when they led a miserable existence in cages that were far too small are now a thing of the past. There, the bears frolic in the pond, forage for food, take afternoon naps in the shade of the trees, or simply enjoy their lives in the Bärenwald.
The bear sanctuary is designed to be accessible. This means there are no thresholds along the visitor path, and all steps can be bypassed via alternative routes. You are welcome to bring your dog to the bear sanctuary and the designated dog area at no extra charge.
