March 12, 2025 - Jonathan Haas Fundraiser

Sole Felsen Welt €4,000 to Jonathan (17), who was involved in an accident

Gmünd, March 12, 2025: The Sole Felsen Welt Gmünd presented a check for €4,000 to the Haas family from the Zwettl district to support their son Jonathan, who was involved in an accident.

In 2024, the life of Jonathan—then 16 years old—and his family changed abruptly. The sports-loving teenager from the Waldviertel region unwittingly slipped down the exterior railing of his house, unaware of the consequences this would entail. The fun-loving Jonathan fell two stories, narrowly escaping death. After the fall, emergency responders were immediately alerted, and shortly thereafter, Jonathan was flown by emergency helicopter to St. Pölten Hospital. Two serious but life-saving emergency surgeries, during which both skull caps had to be removed, ensured his survival. But the grim diagnosis hit the family hard: Jonathan will require long-term care for the rest of his life. Now his parents face enormous challenges. For example, renovating the house, providing ongoing care, and funding lifelong therapies entail high costs. To cope with this financial burden, the family is seeking support from “Kronen Zeitung hilft” and is hoping for donations.

During the Christmas holidays and New Year’s season, Sole Felsen Welt launched its “Sole Fundraiser” for the second time. For every admission to the Sole Felsen pool Sauna between December 1 and December 31, 2024, 10 cents were set aside for charitable causes. The campaign promoted the idea of doing good while relaxing: “Come visit us, relax, and automatically do a good deed with your visit.”

“As soon as I read the Kronen Zeitung article about Jonathan, it was immediately clear to me that this year’s donation should go to him. It’s heartbreaking that such a young boy, who had his whole life ahead of him, is now permanently dependent on assistance. We hope this donation will provide his parents with some support in the coming months and years, and on behalf of the entire Sole Felsen Welt team, we wish the whole family Sole Felsen Welt and all the best!” said Managing Director Bernhard Strohmeier.

In December, a total of 37,158 spa and sauna enthusiasts visited the Sole Felsen Welt, resulting in a total donation of no less than €3,715.80. However, Managing Director Bernhard Strohmeier rounded the donation amount up to €4,000!

The Haas family is overjoyed by the generous donation and would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful support!
