A New Chapter in the Sole Felsen Welt: A Multi-Million-Dollar Renovation Project Reaches Its Grand Finale.

Gmünd, November 8, 2024: After a total of seven months of construction work on pool hotel, the Sole Felsen Welt Gmünd has completed its renovation and is celebrating with a grand opening!

On March 4, 2024, a major project kicked off at the Sole Felsen Welt Gmünd: The exterior facade of the Sole Felsen Hotel**** is getting a completely new look. The green and orange facade is being replaced with a custom-made wood-slat design, accented with an elegant dark gray, and some rooms will also be equipped with balconies to enhance the vacation experience. Changes pool also on the agenda at pool Sole Felsen pool . The Sole Relax Lagoon, an indoor and outdoor pool area featuring various seating and lounging options, is set to be modernized.

By early October, the time had finally come: 14 rooms had been fitted with beautiful balconies, and a unique hotel façade featuring curved details caught the eye of visitors. The Sole Felsen pool already unveiled its new features a bit earlier, as the modern stainless-steel pool—complete with an idyllic wooden deck, a larger water surface, and various massage jets and seating jets—had been open to all swimming enthusiasts since July 1. To mark the end of these momentous months, an opening ceremony was held on November 8, 2024, at the Sole Felsen Hotel**** with contributors, guests of honor, members of the press, and a delegation from the Gmünd City Band to properly celebrate the fantastic results and officially open the hotel façade. Managing Directors Marcus Steinhart and Bernhard Strohmeier are delighted with the final result and the smooth execution of the project.

Many guests rave about the renovation of the new outdoor pool and the long-awaited balconies, as these have been a top priority for regulars for quite some time. The hotel’s façade is certainly a design that sticks in your mind—and one that few would have expected. “Our previous facade wasn’t something that stuck in people’s minds. With the current facade, I’m certain that once you’ve seen it, it leaves a positive impression,” says Managing Director Bernhard Strohmeier. But even after the largest renovation projects since the opening of Sole Felsen Welt, there’s no time to rest, as the next project is already in the works. In addition to the renovated Relax Lagoon, space will be made in the summer of 2025 for a seasonal outdoor cocktail bar—perfect for that beach vibe in the Waldviertel!
