The town lies on both banks of the Vltava River, which forms a bend here—hence the name “krumme Au” (crooked floodplain).
Explore the city center, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and is a beautiful place for romantic strolls.
Just as worth seeing as the historic old town is the beautiful castle, which covers a total area of ten hectares. It also houses a Baroque castle theater, which is one of only two Baroque stages in the world that have been preserved in their original condition and whose stage machinery is still fully functional.
You can also go on a short but very fun rafting trip on the Vltava River.
You can reach Krumau by car in about an hour.
